Not designed for the north.

I have had this parka for a couple weeks now, and can say that it is not designed for the northern states. We have had a very mild winter, and can still feel the cold through the parka (primarily the sleeves as the stab vest insulates the body) when the temperatures are in the 25-30 degree range. I do not have confidence that it will keep me warm in a typical winter when it is not uncommon for us to have sub-zero temperatures. For the price, I expected more. If the parka had a fleece liner or something, I think it would do well, but the softshell being the base layer does not provide a whole lot of warmth.
I would suggest ordering one size larger as it runs on the smaller side.
On a positive note, the parka is well made, and the length is exactly what I was looking for to keel the wind from getting in the bottom.

NOT WARM

This jacket is NOT a warm winter jacket. it is currently 32 degrees with a windchill of 21 and its not awful with a sweatshirt on under it. I can only imagine how it will be when its 5 degrees with a windchill of -30.
Quality of jacket is 5 stars. but for 350 dollars I can get a much warmer "Parka" jacket.

I got this jacket thinking "parka" meant it would be warm... that is NOT the case. Here in MI the current temp is 32 degrees with a windchill of 21 (warm for this time of year) and the jacket is not warm like I was expecting. I can only imagine how this jacket will be when its 5 degrees and a windchill of -30.
Overall quality of the jacket is 5 stars. ONLY reason for a 2 star review is the "Parka" jacket is not a warm winter "Parka" jacket.

Not Warm Enough

Been using it for a few weeks now. Pros; it feels like high quality, water slicks off it well, comfortably. However, it is not warm like I thought it would be. For $350, I thought parka meant this would be warm for winter conditions. It is essentially a fall weight inner coat with a rain/wind outer coat. Parka just refers to the length of the coat I believe, not the warmth provided.
